Chris Rossio, Administrative Officer in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
Bio: Chris Rossio currently serves as an Administrative Officer in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’, Purchased Community Care Department at VA San Diego Healthcare System. Mr. Rossio graduated with honors from San Diego State University with his Masters
Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Management and Policy. While in graduate school, he completed a ‘capstone’ project to improve systematic implementation of palliative care in late stage cancer patients. He completed his administrative fellowship at the VA Desert Pacific Regional Corporate Headquarters which oversees eight geographically based VA health care systems. Chris is passionate about systematically improving health care delivery, for physicians, clinicians and patients. Personally, he and his wife welcomed a baby girl in August 2016 and his favorite golf course is Torrey Pines. Grateful for a supportive family and his career which requires lifelong learning and mentorship, to improve the lives of others.
Vicki Shumulinsky, Strategy Manager at West Health
Bio: Vicki Shumulinsky is a Strategy Manager for West Health, a non-profit medical research and policy institute focused on successful aging, where she leads a portfolio of projects that span the continuum of care for seniors. Prior to West Health, Vicki spent 4 years at UC San Diego Health in the corporate strategy office with responsibilities for the development and execution of strategic initiatives and business deals in the areas of Neurosciences, Orthopedics, Surgery, and Transplant. Prior to UCSD, she completed a 1-year administrative fellowship at Palomar Health in North County San Diego under the preceptorship of the system’s CEO. Vicki has held multiple positions on the San Diego ACHE chapter board (SOHL), including President in 2016. Ms. Shumulinsky received her Masters of Healthcare Administration and Bachelors in Health Management at The Ohio State University, and is originally from Ohio.
Savannah Humphreys, Administrative Fellow at Kaiser Permanente
Bio: Savannah is a second-year Administrative Fellow at Kaiser Permanente completing her final rotation in San Diego. During her last rotation, Savannah is working for KP’s Southern California Medical Group as an Assistant Department Administrator in General, Vascular, and Plastic Surgery. Savannah holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Belmont University and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Florida. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Savannah worked for UF’s College of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and the Coker Group, a healthcare consulting firm in Atlanta, GA.
Christopher Lee, Clinical Solutions Marketing Manager at Family Health Center of San Diego
Bio: Christopher Lee is Clinical Solutions Marketing Manager at Family Health Centers of San Diego. He holds a Master of Public Health from SDSU and has since worked in health IT and consulting. Chris writes for various outlets and manages a career development blog at PurposeRedeemed.com. He co-chairs the health services subcommittee for the San Diego Human Trafficking Advisory Council. And he tweets about healthcare innovation, pharmacy economics, and patient engagement at @chrisleemph.
