  • Learn about the importance of patient safety in regards to:
    • Developing a culture of patient safety within your organization.
    • Patient safety in behavioral health: Current issues in healthcare management decisions.
    • Patient safety reform in assisted living.
    • How professionals raised in different cultures affect patient safety.
    • Pros and cons of respecting authority. 
    • The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) six domains and pledge for patient safety.

ACHE partnered with Institute for Healthcare Improvement/National Patient Safety Foundation Lucian Leape Institute (IHI/NPSF LLI) to convene a roundtable of safety experts, and the results helped to form Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success, a document for healthcare leaders to assess, support, and promote a culture of safety in their organization. ACHE created a website with resources for leaders, ache.org/safety.

  • Follow these steps to join ACHE in the Leading for Safety Initiative:

 

Note for Qualified Education Credits: As an independent chartered chapter of the ACHE, SOHL is authorized to award 1.5 hours of ACHE Qualified Education credit toward advancement or recertification in ACHE. Participants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualified Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to ACHE for advancement or recertification.
